Festival MED 22 includes the Infinity Movement
The Stage Hammam, as part of the Festival MED22, will feature a special intervention by the Infinity Movement, a project created in partnership between Inframoura and Loulé Design Lab, incubator of the Municipality of Loulé. Newly opened Museum Space of the Islamic Baths of Loulé, will be decorated with pieces created and produced with reused materials. In this scene, the concept of circular economy was fully implemented, which is based not only on prevention, reduction and reuse, but also on the recovery of materials, producing useful objects from waste.
It will be possible to relax and listen to the music of “Terra Sul”, “Suricata” and “Amar Guitarra” sitting on beanbags created with used advertising canvas, on cardboard benches created exclusively from packaging and there will also be side tables constructed with glass bottles collected from local restaurants. In addition to the Hammam space, the Festival’s cinema space will also be decorated with pieces illuminated by solar led lights, created with used packaging.
Open Workshops and Infinity Exhibition
On Saturday, July 2nd, the Gama Lobo Palace will hold several workshops with free admission, where you can get to know the work of some of the artisans and makers. Learning how to make wooden spoons with wood waste, sewing an apron by reusing used jeans, covering a discarded chair with fabric waste, making a cardboard bench from packaging, filling pillows with local herbs, are some examples of what you can learn.
In addition to the workshops, two guided tours are available to the Infinity project exhibition at the palace gallery, where the objects #repaired #reconditioned #relocated and #reused by the designers and makers from the Loulé Design Lab/Loulé Criativo are shown, who, together with Inframoura teams, worked on the Infinity project in 2021.
